El GECU de la Universidad de Panamá.
Fundado en 1972 con el objetivo de fomentar y garantizar un espacio de gestación, producción y difusión cinematográfico y cultural dirigido a estimular y perfeccionar el desarrollo de una conciencia nacional.
Al tiempo que generar el intercambio de conocimientos tanto generales como profesionales alrededor de la producción audiovisual y cinematográfica, como herramienta para el desarrollo humano sostenible.
Con el reciente cambio de administración universitaria y el inicio de esfuerzos significativos en varias direcciones para poder re potenciar esta iniciativa cultural que cumplirá 45 años, y que cuenta con potencial no solo en términos culturales y cinematográficos que les son inherentes, sino también en el contexto de estimular la reflexión, el estímulo y la creación de una industria cinematográfica nacional.
